It's that time of year again! As the semester comes to a close, Sumi and I are frantically packing and preparing for another cycling trip in Japan! This time around, we'll be pedaling across the Japanese Alps, starting in Tokyo, heading north to Nikko, then west across the Alps to Nagano and a little beyond.
We've visited several of these places before, but not by bike, and not since our first trip back in 2008. It promises to be an interesting trip. By far our most challenging in terms of altitude. With that in mind, our average day will probably be only 30-40 miles.
The bikes are tuned up, brand new trailers are ready to go, (my) clothes are all packed. Just need to frantically finish up grades and final exams, then get the house ready for our house/cat sitter, and off we go, with the promise of pictures of Japanese mountain vistas. And food.
